The banner painting is actually a portion of an oil painting by Decorah, Iowa artist Carl Homstad, and is entitled “Boulder Roll”. The image below is the entire painting. It was commissioned by Kyrl and Jane Henderson, and is currently in the collection of Kyrl Henderson. The location depicted is the view from a bluff just East of Sattre, Iowa, recognized by the Des Moines Register as the most remote place in Iowa.
