American Mosaic Radio Program

American Mosaic with Robert Wolf

Original Stories of Contemporary American Life at No Charge

"American Mosaic" is a weekly 30-minute compendium of writings, interviews and music that takes listeners across country from Midwest farmhouses to Mississippi Delta cotton fields, from Manhattan offices to ranches on the Great Plains. "American Mosaic" is based on writings created by everyday folk in Free River Press writing workshops led by Robert Wolf and is devoted to the search for contemporary America. “American Mosaic” is available at no charge to stations that run it in a consistent time slot.

Why You Should Run American Mosaic.

Robert Wolf and Free River Press have consistently garnered praise from critics across the country.

"€œBob Wolf's approach to oral history is unique . . . His work is more than a lament, it is a battle cry." Studs Terkel

"€œNot unlike the fictional character in the Broadway musical, The Music Man, Bob Wolf has also traveled from town to town, encouraging people to express themselves, writing their chapter of the American story."€”Jerry Bowen, €œCBS Sunday Morning.

"Robert Wolf has gathered a chorus of unique and powerful voices in these pages. This book is filled with stories about people and places most of us barely know and about ways of life that seem to be vanishing before our eyes. This is a book of tremendous energy and passion. In these pages, you can hear America sing." Rick Kogan, Chicago Tribune

"Heartland Portrait is more than a narrative; in many ways it is the conscience that we need to remember, cherish and perhaps restore, that makes us a human community."€” Dave Warren, Former Deputy Director, National Museum of the American Indian, Smithsonian Institution
